Executive Committee
The Executive Committee consists of a President, two Vice Presidents and Treasurer. Collectively they represent many years of industry experience and expertise.

Maurice Maes
President
Maurice Maes is Head of Standards & Regulations at Signify since 2015. After graduating in Mathematics from the Nijmegen University, Maurice joined Philips Research in 1987. He obtained his PhD from the Amsterdam University through a thesis on Mathematical Methods for Reflector Design in 1997. Maurice has over 20 years’ experience in standardization and regulatory matters, having served on boards of industry alliances and associations such as LightingEurope and the ZigBee Alliance. As President of the GLA, he commits to contribute to the global deployment of simplified, harmonized and better enforced regulations, and to system level advocacy programs which will stimulate smarter and better lighting, bringing more value from lighting systems to their users.

Chen Yansheng

Mr Chen Yansheng is President of China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI) and Vice President of the Global Lighting Association.
Chen Yansheng has been engaged in the lighting industry for more the 20 years, and has worked extensively in the areas of lighting standards, lighting policy and industrial development planning in China.

Pekka Hakkarainen
Vice President Lutron Electronics (NEMA), Vice President Global Lighting Association
Dr. Pekka Hakkarainen is Vice President at Lutron Electronics, and is currently assigned to work in Government and Industry Relations, including Standards activities. He has held several other—mostly technical—positions in his 20+ years at Lutron. Pekka is currently serving as Chair of the Lighting Systems Division of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), is a voting member of the ASHRAE 90.1 Committee, and a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA). He has previously chaired several IESNA and NEMA committees and served on numerous other industry committees and advisory groups. Pekka received a BA/MA degree in Mathematics from Cambridge University, England and a PhD in Plasma Physics from MIT. He holds seven U.S. patents.

Michael Ng
Director Taiwan Lighting Fixture Export Association (TLFEA), Treasurer Global Lighting Association
Michael Ng currently serves as a Director at the Taiwan Lighting Fixture Export Association (TLFEA) and is the Deputy Chair of International Affairs Committee. Michael graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York and Harvard Business School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His career started at Morgan Stanley, New York, as an analyst working in the Institution Equity Division, specializing in hedge fund operations and technology. He established AMKO SOLARA Lighting Co., Ltd. as CEO in 2005 that specializes in energy efficient lighting solutions, smart controls and monitoring systems.
